Since 2015, he gives lectures on physics to students of the Inha International University in Tashkent and conducts research as a senior and leading (since 2017) researcher at the High Energy Physics Laboratory of the Physics and Technology Institute of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences.

Areas of research: Processes of nuclear fragmentation in interactions with nucleons and nuclei at high energies. Collective effects in hadron-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at high energies. Properties (temperature, etc.) of highly excited nuclear (hadronic) matter formed in central collisions of relativistic nuclei. Evolution of nuclear (hadronic) matter, depending on the masses of colliding nuclei, centrality and collision energy.

Publications: He has more than 100 scientific publications, including 50 publications in internationally renowned scientific journals (PhysicalReview C, TheEuropeanPhysicalJournal A, JournalofPhysics, InternationalJournalofModernPhysics E, PhysicsofAtomicNuclei (Nuclear Physics)) and 7 articles in local (Uzbek) physics journals. He published one textbook and one monograph in Germany.
Under Kh.K.Olimov’s supervision two PhD dissertations (ImranKhan, COMSATS IIT, Islamabad, Pakistan, 2014 - supervisor, ShakeelMahmood, COMSATS IIT, Islamabad, Pakistan, 2015 - co-supervisor), two master's theses (SayyedAghaHadi 2013, AkhtarIqbal 2012, COMSATS IIT, Islamabad, Pakistan) were defended.
