Jalal-Abad State University

The Jalal-Abad State University was opened by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on April 2, 1993 as a state educational institution designed to provide training for specialists with basic and complete higher education in such areas as electronics, energy, construction, education, and specialists for the agro-industrial complex.

The University was established on the basis of the Kara-Kul and Tash-Kumyr evening faculties of the Kyrgyz Technical University (former FPI), the Jalal-Abad Zoo Veterinary Technical School, the Jalal-Abad Pedagogical School, Mailuu-Suu Electromechanical College and the Kochkor Ata Technical College of Electronic Devices.

The Jalal-Abad Pedagogical School was organized in 1926. as a pedagogical college. This first and largest pedagogical educational institution in our country during its existence has produced more than 31 thousand specialists (1926-1993). His graduates are Huseyn Karasayev, Gapar Aytiev, A. Ismailov, Sabyrbek Akylbekov, Joomart Bokonbaev, Zhunai Mavlyanov, Tumenbai Bayzakov, Nurgazy Brimkulov, Temirkul Umetaliev, Tolon Shamshiev, Rakhat Achylova, Mukhtar Borbugulov, Zhunusali Malabaev, Musa Adyshev, and many other prominent people of science, culture, literature and education of Kyrgyzstan.

In the 90 years of the 20th century (before the transformation into JAGU) the school prepared about 400 primary school teachers, teachers of children's preschool institutions, teachers of physical education per year. About 200 teachers worked at the school, 45 of them were excellent students and teachers of the highest category.

Many employees of the Jalal-Abad Pedagogical College, after its closure in 1993, continued working in JAGU and made a worthy contribution to the formation of the university. The same pedagogical school became the basis for the creation of the Engineering and Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Latvia.

The Jalal-Abad Zoo-Veterinary College was opened in 1947. and prepared for agriculture 7846 specialists (1993). Training of specialists was conducted by 30 teachers, including 2 candidates of sciences: Manas Babakulov (now Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, works in the Ministry of Education and Science) and Keldibek Ismailov, currently working at the Agrarian-Biological Faculty of JAGU. The Zooveterinary Technical School became the basis for the creation of the Agrarian Technological Faculty of JAGU, which later became the basis for the creation of two faculties.
